Complain to your solicitor

Discuss your concerns with your solicitor or the person in the firm who deals with complaints – the Complaints Handling Partner. When you complain to your solicitor, you should state

  • What your complaint is about
  • What you want them to do about it

Always take notes of any conversations. Put your complaint in writing and handle a copy of it.

Ask your solicitor, or the Complaints Handling Partner, to confirm in writing

  • The name of the individual at the firm who is handling your complaint
  • What they’ll do to resolve your complaint and when they’ll do it

You should receive a response from your solicitor (in person, by phone or in writing) within 28 days
